ERPNext
ERPNext is a fully open source ERP built on the Frappe framework, licensed GPLv3 with every feature free to self-host. It covers accounting, manufacturing, inventory, HR, and CRM in one unified system. Revenue for the company behind it comes from Frappe Cloud hosting and support, not from feature licensing.
Zoho
Zoho One is a proprietary, cloud-only suite bundling 50+ individual Zoho apps under one per-user subscription with no self-hosting and no source code access. Zoho ERP is a separate product with its own per-user plans. Both are designed for businesses that want a broad toolset running immediately without any infrastructure to manage.
ERPNext vs Zoho, Dimension by Dimension
Cost and ownership
ERPNext wins clearly for teams that want to control long-run cost and own their data end to end: self-host it for the cost of infrastructure, or take a shared Frappe Cloud site from $5 a month (₹410 in India, read 12 September 2026), with no per-user license fee. Zoho's per-user pricing (Zoho One Flexible User US$90 per user per month; Zoho ERP India ₹999 or ₹2,499 per user per month plus ₹249 per employee, minimum 5 users, read 12 September 2026) is predictable but scales with headcount and never goes away.
Manufacturing
ERPNext wins outright. It has native bills of materials, work orders, and production planning built in at no extra cost. Zoho One has no dedicated manufacturing or MRP product at all; that job sits in the separate Zoho ERP product.
Onboarding and polish
Zoho wins on zero-ops onboarding. Sign up, pick your apps, and you are running the same day with a polished, consumer-grade interface and no server to provision. ERPNext self-hosting requires someone comfortable with deployment, or a Frappe Cloud subscription to skip that step.
CRM
Zoho wins here too. Zoho CRM is a mature, widely adopted standalone product with its own AI assistant, Zia, for lead and deal scoring. ERPNext's CRM is capable within a unified ERP but is not built to the same depth as a dedicated CRM tool.
Choose ERPNext if
- You want to control cost by self-hosting rather than paying per user indefinitely
- You need manufacturing, work orders, or production planning
- You have technical staff willing to deploy and maintain the platform, or budget for Frappe Cloud
Choose Zoho if
- You want to be running fully functional software the same day with no deployment
- You need best-in-class standalone CRM and do not need manufacturing
- You would rather pay a predictable per-user fee than manage infrastructure
If you want ERPNext's ownership model without setting up hosting yourself, or Zoho's ease without giving up open source and manufacturing depth, that combination is what OneYukti targets. The core is LGPL-3.0 and free to self-host as OneYukti Community; the paid plans license every app for the term and include hosting for teams that want the zero-ops path, at one price per company per year. AI on your own key is an included feature, where ERPNext's AI is early stage and Zoho's Zia runs only on Zoho's infrastructure.

Common Questions
Is ERPNext harder to set up than Zoho?
Yes, if you self-host. ERPNext requires provisioning a server or subscribing to Frappe Cloud, while Zoho One is ready the moment you sign up since it is fully managed SaaS. The tradeoff is that ERPNext gives you full control over your data and infrastructure, which Zoho does not offer.
Does ERPNext have a CRM as good as Zoho's?
ERPNext includes a capable CRM as part of its unified ERP, but Zoho CRM is a more mature, dedicated product with deeper sales automation and its own AI scoring via Zia. If CRM depth is your top priority and you do not need manufacturing, Zoho's CRM has the edge.
Can Zoho handle manufacturing like ERPNext?
Not in Zoho One. The suite has no dedicated manufacturing, MRP, or bill of materials product; Zoho ERP is sold separately. ERPNext includes native work orders, bills of materials, and production planning at no additional cost, which makes it the stronger choice for businesses that make physical goods.
Which costs less long term?
ERPNext self-hosted has no per-user license fee, so cost scales with infrastructure rather than headcount, which usually wins at scale. Zoho charges per user: Zoho One Flexible User is US$90 per user per month, and Zoho ERP in India lists ₹999 or ₹2,499 per user per month plus ₹249 per employee per month with a minimum of 5 users (read 12 September 2026). Per-user pricing is simple to budget but grows linearly with your team.
