OneYukti vs Odoo: same foundation, a different way of selling it

Yukti's platform is built on the Odoo Community codebase. We are not going to pretend otherwise. The apps, the data model and much of the OCA module library carry over, which is why moving between the two is a data exercise rather than a rebuild.

What differs is how it is sold. Odoo bills each user and each light user, sells hours that expire, quotes setup as one line and hosts custom code on Odoo.sh as a separate bill. Yukti is one price per company per year with every app in every paid plan, setup by the hour at one published rate and fixed once scoped, extra hours in blocks that never expire, hosting with custom code in the plan, and AI on your own key as one included feature.

Odoo prices read 24 September 2026 from odoo.com/pricing-plan, India pricelist, yearly billing; Odoo raised the Custom plan that day. Odoo's list prices vary by country and billing term, so confirm the current rate on odoo.com before you buy. Yukti prices are the published India ones; the dollar price is on the pricing page.

Odoo Standard is Odoo Online, and its hosting is inside the per-user price. For a very small team that price is the better deal. Under 7 users on one company, Odoo Standard's licence costs less at its regular price, under 8 in Odoo's first year, and Community is free. From about 11 to 13 users, Odoo Standard's first-year price still beats our 20-user band on licence alone. We say so because you will find out anyway.

Above that, the per-user bill keeps growing, and every light user (someone who only approves, files an expense, clocks in, or is your CA) adds ₹195 a month. Yukti's price is per company by user band, light users are free, and the price is written down before you sign.

Odoo's project estimator sells packs of hours, and its own page says “these hours expire after one year” (read 26 September 2026). Implementation is not on the pricing page; a partner quotes it as one line.

Yukti prices setup from the apps you pick at ₹799 an hour. Accounting, stock and CRM is about 90 hours, ₹71,910. Discovery is free, the scope document is yours, and the total is fixed once scoped and paid 40 / 40 / 20 against milestones. More later comes in blocks of 10 hours at the same rate, ₹7,990 a block. Odoo Online is in the per-user price and runs standard apps well. The moment you need custom code, Odoo moves you to Odoo.sh, and the pricing page's own footnote says “Cost for Odoo.sh hosting not included” (read 24 September 2026). That is a second bill, sized by workers and storage.

In Yukti, hosting with custom code is in the plan. We host it, included. You host it, same price. The hosting page has both.

Odoo 19 added Ask AI, smart drafting and AI features that run on Odoo's infrastructure and are metered as credits, with the AI features in the Custom plan. They are useful, and the meter is Odoo's.

In Yukti, AI is one feature, included in every paid plan, and it runs on the key you hold with the provider you pick. Never billed by us. What it does, app by app, is on the AI page.

Odoo Community is LGPL and genuinely open source. Over the years Odoo has moved features into the proprietary Enterprise edition: full accounting reports, Studio, multi-company and several apps. For some businesses Community is enough; for others the Enterprise-only features are the point.

OneYukti Community is free to self-host with the same LGPL core. The paid plans are one clearly marked layer: hosting, support, the paid apps and AI on your own key, at one price per company per year, with every app in every paid plan. The licence detail is on the open source page.

This is where Odoo has a clear advantage, and we say so. Its app store, the Odoo Community Association module library and a global network of certified partners mean that if you need a connector for an unusual payment gateway, someone has probably built it for Odoo.

Yukti is a younger platform with a smaller community. Many OCA modules and connectors are compatible because of the shared codebase, but we do not have Odoo's app store and we will not pretend otherwise. If ecosystem breadth is your top priority today, Odoo has the edge.

Odoo ships an Indian localization, and the Community edition covers the basics well: GST tax setup, HSN/SAC codes, e-invoicing and e-way bills. What most Indian finance teams run into is the return layer. GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B reports and GSTR-2B reconciliation are Enterprise features, so a business on Odoo Community closes the month from spreadsheets or pays for Enterprise.

In Yukti, GST is part of the accounting app: GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B prepared from your books, e-invoices with IRN and QR code, e-way bills, TDS and TCS, and 2A/2B matching for input tax credit. Filing goes through a licensed GSP. There is no separate tier to unlock for month-end.
