The core is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 (LGPL-3.0). This means:
- You can use it for any purpose, including commercial use
- You can modify the source code to suit your needs
- You can distribute copies of the original or modified software
- Modifications to LGPL-licensed files must be shared under the same license
- Proprietary modules that link to (but do not modify) LGPL code are permitted
- Copyright stays with the authors. The licence gives you the right to run, read, change and share your copy
