- The country's fiscal system involves federal, state, and municipal taxes that interact in ways that challenge even experienced accountants.

Brazil's tax system is uniquely demanding
- ICMS (state VAT with different rates per state and product), PIS/COFINS (federal contributions), IPI (industrial products tax), ISS (municipal services tax), and IRPJ/CSLL (corporate income/social contribution) all require precise calculation.
