ERP Software for Spanish Businesses

Spain operates one of Europe's most advanced real-time tax reporting systems and is adding a new layer of e-invoicing compliance in 2026. The Suministro Inmediato de Informacion (SII), introduced in July 2017, requires certain taxpayers to submit invoice data to the Agencia Tributaria within four calendar days of issuance or receipt. SII is mandatory for businesses with annual turnover exceeding 6 million euros, companies in the monthly VAT repayment register (REDEME), and businesses in VAT groups. The system covers both issued and received invoices, effectively giving the tax authority near-real-time visibility into business transactions.

Business Environment in Spain

Starting January 2026, Spain introduces Verifactu, a new certified e-invoicing system that targets businesses not already using SII. Verifactu requires invoicing software to generate tamper-proof records with cryptographic hashes linking consecutive invoices, creating an unbreakable chain of fiscal records. Legal entities subject to Corporate Income Tax must comply from January 1, 2026. Individuals (freelancers and self-employed) must comply from July 1, 2026. Businesses already using SII are exempt from Verifactu requirements, though they can voluntarily adopt the SII obligation to avoid Verifactu if they prefer.

Yukti supports both compliance paths. For SII-obligated businesses, the system submits invoice records to the Agencia Tributaria API within the four-day deadline and handles the response codes that confirm successful registration. For businesses subject to Verifactu, Yukti generates the required cryptographic chain of invoices with SHA-256 hashes and maintains the tamper-proof audit trail.

Spanish VAT (IVA) applies at a standard rate of 21%, a reduced rate of 10%, and a super-reduced rate of 4%. The Canary Islands, Ceuta, and Melilla have separate indirect tax regimes (IGIC and IPSI respectively) that are outside the EU VAT system. Yukti handles IVA calculations for mainland Spain and the separate regimes for these territories.

The Plan General de Contabilidad (PGC) is Spain's mandatory chart of accounts framework. Financial statements must follow PGC structure, with a simplified version (PGC PYMES) available for small and medium enterprises. Yukti includes both PGC and PGC PYMES configurations.

Penalties for non-compliance with SII or Verifactu are significant, reaching up to 50,000 euros per fiscal year.
